Low Rocker is the proud craftsman’s version on the classic American rocking chair.Morten has made a Rocking chair with a bit more attitude and a more modern look.By sinking the height of the seating he found it to be more pleasing to the eye and sending a more laid back look. But it’s more than the look !! The lower seating makes it easier to rock back and find your personal preference of seating angel. For a fresher look he has angled the front legs forward and put a lot of design work into the armrest.The chairs organic shape has no sharp corners. Every component of the chair floats into each other, leaving the chair with only one surface, that’s partly broken down by fine edges to lighten the look and emphasize the lines of the chair. The back braces gives a great lumbar support. Oval dining table for 6 persons. The solid 45 mm tabletop is so strong that the table needs no underframe. This give the table nice light look, and provide extra room for your legs under the table (enough room to sit with legs crossed under the table if you desire). The sculpted underside of the tabletop add even more lightness and elegance to the table. The joint between table legs and tabletop are the same beautiful and rocks solid joints that’s used on the chairs MS20 and MS21.

Introducing a Nordic version of the Rocking Chair in the making. Origin is perhaps the most respected element when it comes to Scandinavian furniture. But what if a Dane take on an all American icon like the Rocking Chair? The great thing about Scandinavian designers and craftsmen are the ability to take an International challenge and create a all Nordic take on a classic. This skilled craftsman did not choose an easy challenge – nevertheless Morten Stenbæk delivered a new take on the Rocking Chair that even turn a passionate all American fan towards the Danish version of this iconic piece of furniture. Every Chair that Morten Stenbaek produces is one of the kind limited editions. We believe in the importance in bridging culture and design and are very happy to promote Mortens beautiful furniture line on Northernmakers. This particular rocker is one of the chairs that laid the ground for the Low Rocker design.
It’s not every day a true furniture craftsman and Dane decide to make an interpretation on the all american rocking chair. First and foremost because american craft is between the worlds finest, but also because that most don’t like us to mess with tradition and the quality that has been developed over many years. But being part of the strong Scandinavian heritage in furniture design and craft, it is no wonder that Morten took upon himself to make the Scandinavian version of the good old rocking chair. And perhaps because of the legacy it is no wonder that this version came out even better that even the proud americans would have imagine. Being part of the great traditions of Scandinavian Design and Scandinavian Living made us realize how important it is to present makers to the people around the world who can appreciate some of the more distinguish designers and products available. Today it’s not just Scandinavian makers we celebrate but makers and designers from all in the Nordic region. We are happy to present such a great craftsman to Northernmakers. We strive to collect the greatest designers and craftsman from all of Scandinavia under one roof.All of which hold proud Scandinavian traditions both in terms of design, product and production.
